(More) Nice Music Video Clips

Please read the 1st part here: https://icicleisland.blogspot.com/2022/10/music-video-clips-that-are.html

As I've watched more video clips, I also have found more of them that are nice. So, I decided to make the list. These video clips in this list aren't necessarily all aesthetically pleasing, but I happen to like them. Here they are! (These are in chronological order.)

Nine Inch Nails - Closer (1994)

Warning! Viewers' discretion may be advised.

This is the first MV on this list and you already got the warning sign. Yes, it contains some ... mature themes? Anyway, I wouldn't believe this MV was made in 1994. I actually like the sepia filter tone. Without worrying about the content, this MV is iconic and artistic.

Filter - Take a Picture (2000)

Let's get to a safer one. I like this song so much. Its MV accompanies the song so well. I think this MV won The Best Music Video Award and it's well-deserved. In other words, both the song and the MV make me feel well.

Creed - My Sacrifice (2001)

There's a deep message conveyed through this MV. It really would make you say "Hello, my friend." Yes, the MV shall greet you like an old friend who brings joy and spirit to lift you. I think the one we should befriend is our own selves. And that's what the song and the MV want to remind us.

Keane - Is It Any Wonder? (2006)

I think the MV is simple with a very "moving" concept. So, there's a camera moving on a track/trail. It records the personnel singing and playing the instruments. After all, the room where they are in the MV is quite good also.

My Chemical Romance - Welcome to the Black Parade (2006)

Nobody could make something monochrome so festive and colourful like My Chemical Romance. This MV says so. The shots, the theme, the rock opera, everything. Everything screams awesomeness in this MV. No wonder The Black Parade is still relevant and always carries on.

Avenged Sevenfold - A Little Piece of Heaven (2007)

Warning! Viewers' discretion may be advised.

Gosh, I just remembered that some boys who were just my age when I was a tween watched this MV at an internet cafe.

But the art style of this animated MV is cool. It reminds me of some of Tim Burton's movies without innocence. Welp, this song and this MV are f-ed up. In a disturbingly aesthetical way.

Panic! At the Disco - Nine in the Afternoon (2008)

This MV is the definition of when Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band meets The Black Parade (which we've just discussed before). The MV has colourful but also chaotic vibes. It's still pleasant though. (Pretty odd, huh?) Also, this is just a reminder that P!ATD looked up to both The Beatles and My Chemical Romance.

The Temper Trap - Fader (2009)

I like the lighting and the lamps used in the video. It gives a fun and warm effect to those who watched it and like the song. As for me, you know I'm a sucker for MVs that use the lamp lights effect.

Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown (2009)

I'm a big fan of Green Day and I like most of their MVs. This is one of them. I like this song, the personnel, the animation of the MV, and the transition from animation to a real-life shot at the end. I know more or fewer things about the United States of America from this MV (since Green Day is an American rock band).

Landon Pigg - Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop (2009)

It has a very sweet story. If you've ever found an attractive stranger, this is the song you can relate to. It makes sense if we want to know more about the stranger and get closer. Maybe we can show this song with its MV.

B.o.B ft. Hayley Williams - Airplane (2010)

Once again, I'm a sucker for MVs that use the lamp lights effect. It looks like they recorded this in a lamp lights art gallery. If only I know an art gallery like that. (And I adore Hayley Williams with hair buns in the MV.)

Breakbot ft. Irfane - Baby I'm Yours (2010)

You may know the song from a meme. But, this one's a catchy song actually. The animation in the MV is colourful and smooth. You need to watch the MV to get what's expressed there, I guess.

Zedd ft. Foxes - Clarity (2013)

This is maybe a desperate song, but the MV is quite aesthetical. I remind you, the cinematography in the MV is nice. The story's amusing too. Either the teenager me or the now me like both the song and the MV.

ONE OK ROCK - Be the light (2013)

The concept of the MV is almost similar to the "Is It Any Wonder". Only the camera is on a train rail and is moving mainly backwards. Then, there are some TV screens showing the personnel and something related to our daily life. What I like is the song which is so moving and heartwarming accompanied by a wholesome video.

Maroon 5 - Love Somebody (2013)

I remember loving the song back then. I liked watching the MV because the concept is creative. I think I still like this one.

Placebo - Too Many Friends (2013)

You won't find more critical MVs than this one ever. Ever. The song, which is also critical, accompanies the MV fittingly. Well, if you're smart enough, you can answer the quiz at the end of the MV. As for me, I need to watch the MV more than once.

Bring Me the Horizon - Parasite Eve (2020)

BMTH carries the legacy of Linkin Park very well. The song and the MV reflect that and bring the vibe, only louder. Oliver Sykes really has many talents, including editing this MV. And that's why we'll get this mesmerising MV about a pandemic/epidemic.

Bastille ft. Graham Coxon - WHAT YOU GONNA DO??? (2020)

Again, with the pandemic theme, but more cordial and social. This is another animated MV that I like. Only this one's more assertive and not as colourful as the other animated MVs. Still, it's a bold one. Plus, Graham Coxon's guitar playing makes the MV and the song bolder.

Billy Talent ft. Rivers Cuomo - End of Me (2021)

I love Benjamin Kowalewicz, Ian D'Sa, and Rivers Cuomo's voices here! This is a good duet. I just watched Coco, the Pixar movie, and this MV is like a twist of Día de Muertos, The Day of the Dead. This is also Tim Burton-like. Anyway, "End of Me" is a nice song accompanied by a nice MV. You shall watch the lyrics video too.

Harry Styles - Music for a Sushi Restaurant (2022)

I don't know why, but this MV is hilarious even with the dark note at the end. Well, this MV is well-shot in my opinion. On top of all, the MV fits with the song like a glove.

***

And that's all of it! Maybe there are some that you already know and like. You can watch the MVs that I provided here if you're interested. Now, if you excuse me, I'm gonna (re)watch Coco, Corpse Bride, and/or The Nightmare before Christmas. See ya!
